Though the dreamcast had a sudden and sad demise with Sega's exit from the console making scene, it was a console which saw some of the best games from that particular generation of video games. Dreamcast emulation was a dormant scene for a very long period of time. However, after the advent of emulators such as it is now possible to emulate the dreamcast on your PC's. You can download these ISO's and play the titles either in, or if you have a dreamcast lying around, you can burn them to a CD and play them. This thread is intended to keep track of all of the non-commercial game releases (and related files) for the N64, which basically covers everything released from 2002 onwards, and any hacks or homebrew from before that. This thread will not link directly to any copyright roms, instead linking to the patch file itself for any game hacks, or to the news post if the file is a prototype or unreleases commercial game. Anything that's copyright free, such as a homebrew game that doesn't contain commercial code, is of course fully legal and can be directly linked to, whereas homebrew based on commercial code, such as the N64 ports of the PC version of Doom/Doom 2/etc, will only be linked to via their own threads. This is to allow this forum to remain clear of piracy, but it does make it difficult for some people to track down specific files, so for the time being at least, it's acceptable to post the filename or text details so that people can use google to search for it.

Any text that can be searched for in google to help find a working file will be listed in this thread in purple, for convenience. Note: It is intended that this thread will contain links to the patches that were used to create all of the hacked roms that were linked to in the original rom download thread, but it's proving difficult to find many of the patches - some of them were from now-broken URLs or now-non-existing threads, and there are some rom hacks that I've only seen as patched roms, I've never seen their patch file itself. So this thread is a work in progress, and it would be very helpful if anyone can find any patch file not mentioned in this post, so if you know of any them please post about them.
