Serial number obfuscated. Mannlicher Schoenauer. Catalog Page. 20 inch round. Oct 25, 2009 - The serial number is just under 16000, which I believe puts it well pre-war. A while back I wrote a letter to Steyr-Mannlicher asking about dating.

I pulled the stock of my 'new-to-me' Mannlicher with the hope of dating the gun. (I was surprised to find that a comprehensive code of serial numbers and dates did not exist for the commercial sporters, but hoped I'd find an internal date on the gun.) I knew the gun was post-1912 based on the proofs.

But unfortunately most of them are demos and after you pass a few levels you should have to buy full version. All Android devices become more popular every day, now you can find thousands of new tablet games on Google Play market. Tekken 3 mod org. The name on the scope (Emil Kerner & Sohn) provided another clue as the '& Sohne' nomenclature first shows up in the mid-1920s. The serial number on the gun is 9857 and the serial number on the scope is 6581. (This is an original M-S in 6.5x54 with the original Zeiss Zeilvier 4x scope in claw mounts. ) Once I got the gun apart I did not find the date code (or at least the date code in the form I expected to find it.) Stamped in two spots on the underside of the action were the numbers '14037*.19.' I am not sure how to interpret that code. Anyone have any insight? Below are a few photos of the gun: #222446 - 03/21/11 12:34 AM Re: 1903 Mannlicher-Schoenauer - Dates [] Sidelock Registered: 12/31/01 Posts: 6881 Loc: Alaska.

Based on the serial number and location of the markings on the scope it was made in 1923 or early 1924, so was added by Kerner a few years after the rifle was made. Zeiss production records were destroyed during the war, but collectors of German sniper rifles have reassembled most of the major model transitions and serial number sequences.

Beautiful little rifle, by the way. I may have a sling or two that would be appropriate for it; I'll take a look in my gun room to see what I have available. Hello, New member here trying to ID my Mannlicher-Schoenauer. I inheritied the rifle, never fired it. It is absolutely beautiful. I am trying to determine a rough manufacture date and verify caliber. Information; Bottom of magazine plate marked GERMANY. Left side of rifle has following markings; 86892 (I assume SN). It again has 86892 7,6S (I picked up somewhere 7,6S is metric for.30-06).

Other markings US 1906. Then what I assume is a standard manufacture marking Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A/N. With the exception of various proof markings there is not much else. Any additional information you can provide or confirm would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. I realize you think you've supplied enough information, but you haven't - remember that you have the M-S in your hands, while everyone else is blind. That's presuming it's actually a Mannlicher-Schoenauer, and not a later Steyer-Mannlicher, with the outside of the barrel's spiraled ridges, i.e. The M-S was chambered in 5 different models of half-stock/long barreled rifles and/or full-stock/short barreled carbines - and so could be a High Velocity Sporting Rifle, a Model 24 Carbine, a Model 1950 rifle, a Model 1950 Carbine,a Model 1952 rifle or carbine, a Model 1956 rifle or carbine, or a Model 1960 rifle or carbine. The serial number you quote seems low, and would presumably make it an earlier model - but I'm not fully conversant on M-S serial numbers.
